The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts Opens First Property in Madrid Making it the Third European Location for the Hong Kong-based Brand
Inspired new boutique hotel features original artwork from local artisans and fresh dining concept
MADRID (PRWEB) April 25, 2018
Independent boutique hospitality brand, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts, has opened its first property in Spain, The Pavilions Madrid, establishing a third location for the brand portfolio in Europe. The innovative four-star hotel offers guests the unique experience of staying in an art gallery with an impressive selection of works by acclaimed local artists adorning the common spaces, guest rooms and suites.
The Pavilions Madrid has partnered with the capital city’s prestigious Alvaro Alcazar Gallery, which has been dedicated to the presentation of contemporary artists from its space on Castelló Street since 2006. The upscale property offers a unique exhibition space where guests can enjoy contemporary art pieces, some of them specially created for the hotel, and which are also available for purchase. Select pieces include works by Rafael Canogar and Guillem Nadal, two of the most prestigious Spanish artists on the international art scene today. This focus on the Arts perfectly meshes with one of the hospitality brand’s core goals, which is to provide guests unique cultural experiences.
The Pavilions Madrid is ideally positioned for guests looking to explore the capital's main museums and art galleries, as well as those interested in venturing beyond the conventional tourist points. Located on Amador de los Ríos Street, right next to Plaza de Colón and near Paseo de la Castellana, the property resides in the charming residential neighborhood of Chamberi. The area boasts an aristocratic architectural flair and the hotel is close to many museums, boutiques, gardens, quaint cafés and popular restaurants. The urban city-chic shops on Calle Serrano are just a few steps away and The Prado Museum, Plaza Mayor and El Retiro Park are a leisurely 20-minute stroll.
"Madrid is a natural match for The Pavilions brand. It’s an incredible city filled with style and a passion for the active discovery of art and culture," says Gordon Oldham, Founder and CEO of The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts. "We are delighted to open here as we introduce our unique Asian-inspired hospitality to guests, and extend the experience of romance, art, culture and adventure we have been sharing for more than 17 years in our other properties around the world.”
The property underwent intense refurbishment with more than one million U.S. dollars invested in the project. The renovation was carried out by Constructora Zimenta, a company that specializes in unique construction projects, with innovative designs created by Rome-based Studio Marincola Architects.
In order to achieve the required aesthetic, Marincola chose to cover the walls with "Dedar", creating a warm, earthy feel complemented by blue hues that evoke a Mediterranean feel. The fabrics used throughout the hotel feature elegant graphics in black and white, which cover headboards and seating, offering an artistic reference to the architectural prints historically associated with the Spanish capital.
“The launch of this new hotel is a testament of our confidence in the continued growth of tourist arrivals to Madrid, which has established itself as one of the most popular urban travel destinations for international visitors,” adds Mr. Oldham.
The opening of The Pavilions Madrid is part of an ambitious expansion plan across Europe and Asia for The Pavilions Hotels and Resorts. In addition to Madrid, the brand’s European destinations include The First Roma by The Pavilions in Rome and The Toren by The Pavilions in Amsterdam, as well as a new property in Lisbon scheduled to open in 2020.
In Asia, The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts is already well established with properties in paradise destinations such as Phuket and Bali, as well as more remote and adventurous locations such as Nepal and Mongolia. The company is also expanding into residential development with a mixed-use project located in the prestigious ski resort of Niseko, Japan comprising the luxury Ginto Residences and The Pavilions Niseko, slated to open in 2020.
The Pavilions Madrid offers 25 elegant rooms and 3 suites with terraces overlooking breathtaking cityscapes. Room rates range between 165 and 375 euros per room, per night. For details and special offers, visit http://pavilionshotels.com/madrid.
