BOARDS & ASSOCIATIONS
Marc Herbst has been elected chairman of the council of state executives in the American Road and Transportation Builders Association. He is executive director of the Hauppauge-based Long Island Contractors' Association and lives in Melville.

Sister Jane Fritz has been named a senior member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, an association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence. The West Islip resident is a professor of mathematics and computer science at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue.

Phillip Andrews has been appointed to the executive board of the Long Island Men's Center. The Long Island Men's Center is an Amityville-based organization that helps men access health and human services, education, and social, cultural and economic resources. He is owner of P.A. Public Relations and lives in Queens.

Elizabeth Carll was elected chair of the United Nations NGO Committee on Mental Health. The organization is a partnership of nongovernmental organizations that advocates for mental health awareness and access to services worldwide. The Centerport resident is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Centerport.

Nancy E. Gianakos has been elected to the board of directors of the Nassau County Bar Association. She is a matrimonial lawyer at the Garden City law firm of Albanese & Albanese and lives in North Hills.

FINANCE
Rorrie Gregorio has been promoted to national partner-in-charge of the Marcum Llp family office practice. Her responsibilities will now include the family office practices in Marcum's New York, New England, Florida and California-area locations. The Carle Place resident was promoted from partner-in-charge of the Manhattan-based family office practice.

LAW
James F. Burdi has joined Vishnick McGovern Milizio in Lake Success as counsel. He was a partner at Burdi & Burdi in Garden City, which is also the community in which he lives. His practice will concentrate on trust and estate planning and administration.

MANUFACTURING
Michael J. Beecher has been named chief financial officer at Vasomedical, a manufacturer and distributor of devices for noninvasive treatment and management of cardiovascular diseases. The Westbury firm also sells diagnostic imaging products. The Connecticut resident was chief financial officer at Direct Insite Corp. in Sunrise, Fla., before joining Vasomedical.

MARKETING
Mark Biggin has been promoted to vice president at Centra Marketing & Communications, a marketing company in Westbury that is also known as Centra360. The Merrick resident was promoted from senior account director.

TECHNOLOGY
Edwin Kantor has been appointed lead independent director at Comtech Telecommunications in Melville. The Syosset resident had been a director at the company since 2001.

REAL ESTATE
Jim Sansivero has joined The Rochlin Organization as managing director of its newly created retail division. Before joining the Jericho-based commercial property advisory firm, he served as a senior associate in the Long Island retail department of CB Richard Ellis. Sansivero is a Melville resident.
