HGTV’s four-episode series “All American Handyman” airing in September will include three contestants with Long Island roots.

“With any competition, I’m game on,” said Dennis Nourry, who moved to Port Jefferson five years ago.

Nourry, who grew up in Brooklyn, started accompanying his grandfather on construction jobs when he was 12. He now works as a New York City firefighter, a job he has had for five years.

Other Long Island contestants include David Pellot Jr., an event and party planner and DJ from Valley Stream who likes the multi-functional Leatherman tool so much that he carries it with him everywhere he goes; and Matthew McGuire, a Long Island native who learned to use tools and build things at a young age.

“All American-Handyman,” premieres at 9 p.m. Sept. 5. Winners will receive a $10,000 Sears shopping spree and a show development deal with HGTV.
