Did Katie Holmes hint of life after marriage during a May interview with Elle, appearing in that magazine's new August issue?

"He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years," Holmes said of her film-star husband, from whom she filed for divorce last week, adding, "I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that."

Cruise, who turned 50 on Tuesday, has been a star since at least 1983's "Risky Business."

Holmes, 33, the mother of the couple's daughter, Suri, 6, went on to say about being in her thirties, "I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I think in my twenties -- it's like you're trying too hard to figure everything out. . . . I'm starting to come into my own. It's like a new phase."

Part of that new phase is the debut New York Fashion Week presentation of her Holmes & Yang line, which she launched in 2009 with stylist Jeanne Yang and sells through Barneys New York in four U.S. cities and at Hirshleifer's in Manhasset, as well as internationally through Harvey Nichols and Montaigne Market.

A spokeswoman for the brand told WWD Thursday that Holmes' personal matters aren't affecting the line.

Meanwhile, Holmes is expected to appear in Family Court in Manhattan on July 17 at an "order to show cause" hearing over custody and child-support issues.

Attorneys generally file motions for such orders when a decision is needed faster than through the normal process.
