Judge agrees to remove herself from Lohan case
Marsha Revel, the Los Angeles County Superior Court judge in Lindsay Lohan's DWI case, recused herself Wednesday at the request of prosecutor Danette Meyers.
She has been replaced by Judge Elden S. Fox, said Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office. Meyers objected last week to communications Revel had with parties in the case without notifying the district attorney's office, Robison said, according to CNN.
Sources told the celebrity-news website TMZ.com that Meyers specifically noted Revel's contact with the Morningside Recovery rehabilitation facility, which the judge initially chose for Lohan over recommendations by court-appointed psychiatrists, as well as Revel's talks with medical experts at least twice and with defense attorney Robert Shapiro in chambers.
