Lohan released early from rehab
Though the judge in the case isn't scheduled to issue a formal ruling until 8:30 a.m. California time Wednesday, Lindsay Lohan was released late afternoon Tuesday from the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital, where she has been under court-ordered inpatient substance-abuse treatment since Aug. 2.
Per UCLA doctors' recommendation to Los Angeles Country Superior Court Judge Elden Fox, the actress, 24, will receive outpatient care for the foreseeable future, reported TMZ.com.
Lohan had already signed her discharge papers Tuesday, RadarOnline.com said. The site reported she was taken out a back door to a chauffeured car, and made a phone call to her mother, Dina Lohan.
Lohan was given 90-day inpatient rehab as part of her July sentence for parole violation in a 2007 driving while intoxicated case. She had completed an accompanying jail term, serving 14 days before being released because of overcrowding.
Allan Parachini, a spokesman for Los Angeles County Superior Court, in Beverly Hills, said Tuesday that Fox had scheduled a probation modification hearing for this morning. Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, as well as prosecutors are scheduled to attend.
Doctors at UCLA have said Lohan, 24, was misdiagnosed as suffering Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and that they have successfully weaned her off the medications Ambien, Dilaudid, Nexium, Trazodone and Zoloft, as well as Adderall - used to treat ADHD and which, in the absence of that condition, can severely affect behavior, doctors say.
Lohan has used her rehab time to work on her 6126 clothing and handbag line, RadarOnline said. A source told Radar: "[She] has been so focused on her drawings and sketches that at times the staff has to tell her to get up and walk around."
