Appearing on Monday's "Ellen DeGeneres Show," Lindsay Lohan says that quite possibly the single most representative aspect of her public life to date -- the paparazzi -- have largely stopped hounding her.
While noting that not all shutterbugs have disappeared, she said most "have not bothered me at all," particularly on the streets of New York where she now lives.
"It's totally different now. It's strange. I also don't put myself in the same situations . . . there is nothing left for me in going out to a certain place if I know what it's going to result in. It's just not worth it to me."
She left unsaid what "a certain place" exactly is, but you can fill in the blanks.
Meanwhile, Lohan spoke about her next projects -- a movie to begin shooting in May, a fashion app she's developing with her brother, and her controversial post-rehab project, the OWN "docuseries," which has so far attracted a scant audience.
"It was scary at first because I wanted to get back into anything that felt like work mode and then it got really overwhelming and strange . . . [but] it was one of the best things I've ever done."
She had forbidden taping for a brief period and tells DeGeneres, "It was hard getting back into an apartment, living a sober life and having the cameras there for all of it . . . [and there] were moments when I was uncomfortable with myself. But I wanted to show that, because people don't know what people go through in that life [after rehab]. I'm human and wanted it to be something that people related to."
