Adaptive surfing is totally awesome, dude! It is for people with disabilities and, compared to sitting in a wheelchair, it's a wave of awesomeness.

Here on Long Island, the place to adaptive surf is called Skudin Surf for All (skudinsurf.com) in Long Beach. It has is a surf camp in the summertime.

The students at the Children's Learning Center of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County attended the camp, and they learned many skills: how to concentrate on the waves, how to balance and turn, stand, lie down or kneel on the board, and ride the waves. They wore life jackets for safety and wet suits for warmth. Surfing makes you feel happy, enthusiastic, excited and proud.
