The weekend is here and you’re hungry. Here are three recommendations from the Newsday food staff on what to eat that is sure to satisfy.

From Fine Dining critic Peter M. Gianotti

The National League champion Mets play their first three home games of the season starting Friday, April 8, against the Phillies. If you haven’t filled up at Citi Field with Shake Shack burgers, Blue Smoke barbecue or David Chang’s spicy chicken sandwich at the Fuku stand, and if downtown Flushing is bumper-to-bumper, visit Moonstone in Great Neck. Pick the stand-out crabmeat-and-pork soup dumplings ($11), a dim sum sampler ($14) or kung pao shrimp ($24). Moonstone is just over the county line at 14 Northern Blvd., Great Neck; 516-500-1000, moonstoneny.com

From Cheap Eats critic Melissa McCart

I’m smitten with Salumi in Massapequa, a charming space for just about any time of day. On the cafe and market side, try an egg sandwich on a croissant or a biscuit ($4), available till 4 p.m. for late risers. It’s all the better with a cup of coffee made from Intelligentsia beans. On the wine bar side, the restaurant offers a small plate of roasted sunchokes, brightened up with fried capers and lemon confit, served with a dash of balsamic ($9). With a glass of Albariño, it’s a fine afternoon snack. Or share a selection of Spanish meats and cheeses served with the traditional quince paste, along with Marcona almonds and olives. You can’t go wrong. Salumi is at 5600 Merrick Rd., Massapequa; 516-620-0057, salumibarli.com

If you need a between-meal pick-me-up in the vicinity of Babylon, stop by C&C Baking Factory, the bakery that has taken over the Babylon storefront that was Jacqueline’s Patisserie. The C and C in question are Christian and Courtney Dyckman. Christian, the baker, has a thing for brownies and a thing for Elvis. That explains his Elvis brownie, based on the sandwich — bananas and peanut butter on toast (sometimes with bacon) — that was reputedly the King of Rock and Roll’s favorite. This tribute has bananas inside and peanut butter frosting on top. Other specialty brownies include s’mores, cream cheese, and fresh raspberry, $3 to $3.50. C&C Baking Factory is at 199 E. Main St., Babylon; 631-526-9992
