Two Hicksville Middle School students were approached by strangers in vehicles in separate incidents on Tuesday, a Hicksville Public Schools spokeswoman said.
The two students were each walking home from school in the afternoon when one was approached by someone in a red vehicle, and the other by someone in a gray vehicle, a district spokeswoman said. Both of the incidents happened in the vicinity of Nevada Street, one at 2:40 p.m. and the other at 4:15 p.m., according to the district. Nevada Street is a largely residential street more than a mile north of the school.
District officials did not release any other information and referred questions to Nassau County police.
Police did not immediately respond to requests for information.
