Fishers Island school district
VOTING
2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Fishers Island School gymnasium.
THE BUDGET
The district said it could not supply budget information because of a business-related personnel change. This information is from “Property Tax Report Card” data the district was required to report to the State Education Department in April.
The proposed 2016-17 budget is $3,650,419, a decrease of 0.15 percent from the current $3,656,049. The proposed tax levy is $3,200,363, a 0.51 percent increase from the current year.
This tax levy is within the district’s tax-cap limit of 0.52 percent, so a simple majority vote will be required to approve the budget.
The district did not supply information on teacher salaries and school programs.
