THE BUDGET

The district proposes a budget of $91,509,907 for 2017-18, the same amount as 2016-17. The tax levy would stay at the current $64,259,355.

This amount is within what is allowed under the district’s tax-cap limit of 0.84 percent, so a simple majority will be required to approve the budget.

School taxes on the average single-family home would stay the same at $9,385.26.

A proposition asks voters to approve spending $2,985,314 for districtwide capital improvements that would come from capital reserve funds. It would have no effect on the tax rate, according to the district.

Incumbent Catherine Flanagan and candidate Sonny Spagnuolo are running unopposed for two positions in the by-seat election. Terms are three years.
