Lanes reopen after 3-car accident on Southern State Parkway in Nassau

A multivehicle accident closed two eastbound lanes of the Southern State Parkway in Nassau County for about 45 minutes early Tuesday.
The state Department of Transportation website, informny.com, said the accident involved three vehicles between Exit 26, Bellmore Road, and Exit 27S, the Wantagh State Parkway, blocking traffic in the center and left lanes.
The accident information was posted at the site shortly after 9 a.m.; the lanes were reopened at 9:52 a.m.
