Brooklyn man to appear on fraud charges: Nassau police

A Brooklyn man who used fraudulent credit cards to make several purchases in October faces grand larceny charges, Nassau County police said Thursday.

Antonio Llopiz, 22, of 54 Sixth Ave., was arrested at 8:55 a.m. in Uniondale after detectives from the crimes against property squad said he used two re-encoded American Express credit cards on Oct. 4 to make purchases totaling about $2,000.

Police also said he used his position at a Brooklyn computer consulting company to gain access to New York State welfare recipients on Oct. 26. Police did not elaborate, but said his unauthorized access to the recipients was grounds for a charge of computer trespass.

He also was charged with grand larceny and scheming to defraud, and was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
