A 30-year-old Hempstead man has been arrested in the 2010 murder of another Hempstead man who was found critically injured on Terrace Avenue in September - and died of his wounds a month later.

Nassau County police said Alfonso A. Howard of 45 Jackson St. was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Lejeff Thomas, 27.

Police said Hempstead police found Thomas with "multiple stab wounds" in front of 105 Terrace Ave. on Sept. 20.

He was taken to Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola and died on Oct. 19.

Police did not immediately say what led them to Howard.

Arraignment information was not immediately known.
