A Hempstead man found hiding early Wednesday in a rear storage room of a Roosevelt delicatessen faces a burglary charge, Nassau County police said.

First Precinct officers responding to an alarm at Amigo Deli at 369 Babylon Tpke. at about 1:30 a.m. saw a wall-unit air conditioner pushed in and heard noises inside the building, according to a news release.

After gaining entrance, police found Decasta Johnson, 43, of 26 Botsford St., hiding in the storage room. He was arrested without incident, police said.

Johnson is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on a charge of third-degree burglary at First District Court in Hempstead.
