Hempstead man arraigned on gun charges

A Hempstead man was arrested after he pulled out a revolver and fired two shots during a fight Friday night, police said. Nassau County police said Dennis Wolfolk, 19, was involved in a fight with two unknown males in front of 101 N. Franklin Ave., when he fired the gun. A Hempstead man pleaded not guilty in court Sunday after, police said, he was arrested on charges that he pulled out a revolver and fired two shots during a fight Friday night.
Dennis Wolfolk, 19, was arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead and was ordered held on $50,000 bond or $25,000 cash bail. He is due back in court April 30.
Nassau County police said Wolfolk was involved in a fight with two unknown males in front of 101 N. Franklin Ave., when he fired the gun. Hempstead police officers responded after hearing the shots and found Wolfolk nearby. The gun was recovered and no injuries were reported, police said.
Police said Wolfolk was charged with criminal possession of a weapon second degree and reckless endangerment first degree.
