Cops: Woman mugged in Hicksville
A 55-year-old woman was robbed while walking in Hicksville Saturday morning, police said.
Nassau County police said the woman was walking north on Newbridge Road near Broadway when an unknown man started walking behind her. The man then pushed the woman to the ground and took her handbag, containing an unknown amount of money and personal papers, at about 4:09 a.m.
The man fled on foot south toward a Hicksville parking garage. The woman refused further medical treatment at the scene.
