The men were identified as Jermaine Clemmons, 35, of 79 Williams St., Roosevelt, and Stephen Hudson, 49, of 88 Wellington St., Hempstead.

Clemmons was charged with six counts of burglary in the third degree, attempted burglary in the third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. Hudson was charged with three counts of burglary in the third degree.

Both were arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead. Clemmons was ordered held on $140,000 bond or $70,000 cash bail and Hudson was being held on $150,000 bond or $75,000 cash bail. They were held in the Nassau County jail.

According to detectives, Garden City Village police officers responded to an alarm call Saturday at the Mobil gas station at 117 Franklin Ave. when they saw a broken window and spotted Clemmons inside.

They said he and Hudson were stopped about 2:43 a.m. as they tried to flee.
