An East Norwich man already in jail on a burglary charge was booked Tuesday in another break-in after DNA from the crime scene was matched to his, Nassau County police said.

John Mullaly, 32, of 1 Cord Place, was charged Tuesday in the Sept. 23 burglary at a Richard Avenue home in Hicksville, police said.

The resident returned to find jewelry and items missing and her belongings in the bedroom moved around, police said.

Mullaly is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on second-degree burglary.

Police had arrested him 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Nassau County Correctional Facility in East Meadow, where he was held on a bail of $100,000 bond or $50,000 cash after being indicted on charges of burglary and petty larceny in another Sept. 23 case, authorities said.
