Friday night's storms left roughly 4,500 Long Islanders without power, according to LIPA officials.

The electrical provider called in extra crews overnight to help restore power and by 9 a.m. just over 1,000 customers were without power, said LIPA spokesman Mark Gross.

"Just about all jobs have now been dispatched and we hope to have everyone on by late morning or early afternoon," Gross said.

There were about 360 customers in Nassau and about 780 in Suffolk affected by power outages as of about 9:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the Long Island Power Authority's outage website.
