A 71-year-old Manhattan man was held on $25,000 bail Sunday in Hempstead after police said he represented himself as a younger man and sent numerous sexual text messages to a 13-year-old girl.

Vincent T. Iannaco, of 111 E. 88th St., was arraigned Sunday night in First District Court in Hempstead. Iannaco was ordered held with bail set at $25,000 cash or bond on a second-degree felony charge of disseminating indecent material to a minor. In addition, bail was set at $25,000 cash or bond on a second-degree felony charge of disseminating indecent material to a minor by computer; and $5,000 cash or bond on a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Nassau police detectives, Iannaco met the girl through cellphone social media apps known as Kik Messenger and Whisper. Iannaco posed as a 31-year-old man and sent text messages of a sexual nature to the victim beginning on Nov. 4. The victim's parents discovered the messages and contacted police. Nassau police declined to say where the girl lives.

Third Squad detectives along with crimes against property detectives arrested Iannaco Saturday at his residence.
