Hicksville man pleads not guilty to Levittown home burglary
A 63-year-old Hicksville man pleaded not guilty on Saturday to a charge of second-degree burglary after Nassau police said a woman found him inside her Levittown home.
Michael Barber, of 355 Newbridge Rd., was ordered held on $150,000 bond or $75,000 cash bail during his arraignment on the felony charge at First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said a 55-year-old woman returned to her Grouse Lane home in Levittown on Friday night to find Barber in a bedroom. Second Precinct officers went to the house and arrested Barber without incident.
In court Saturday, prosecutors said Barber had an "extensive" criminal record, including a parole revocation and a recent conviction for making terroristic threats.
Barber's next court date is Tuesday.
