Most of the electrical power has been restored at Jones Beach State Park by 8:30 a.m. Thursday after a stubborn outage that began Tuesday evening, according to a state parks official.

Power to the West Bath House and Field 2 had been out since about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, LIPA said, and crews were trying to find the source of the problem.

By Thursday morning, the West Bath House and Central Mall was operating, with only minor outage problems that were not affecting the recreational areas, according to State Parks spokesman George Gorman. All pools and concession areas were opened as of Thursday morning.

The theater was not affected.
