Cops: Robber with knife robs man of computer tablet in East Garden City

A robber with a knife grabbed a computer tablet from the hand of a man standing on an East Garden City street Tuesday, Nassau police said.

The victim, 34, was on East Gate Boulevard by Axinn Avenue when the robber came from behind about 1 p.m. and demanded cash, police said.

The suspect snatched the tablet, then ran away west on Zeckendorf Boulevard, police said.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The robber had a goatee, appeared to be 20 to 25 years old, and was wearing a red Yankee baseball cap, red T-shirt and black pants, police said. He is about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 190 pounds, police said.
