One of four men who drove away from a Wells Fargo bank branch in Hempstead in a silver BMW after robbing it on Monday evening has been caught, the police said on Tuesday.

The bank robber's three comrades, who fled the car on foot, are still being sought, police said.

Yusuf Jackson, 39, of 607 Liberty Park Drive, Freeport, was apprehended after the police located the BMW, according to Nassau's Major Case Bureau.

The four men had demanded cash from a teller, who gave them an undetermined amount, police said.

There were four customers and six bank employees inside when the Wells Fargo, 145 Fulton Ave., was robbed at about 6:05 p.m., police said.

No injuries were reported and the police investigation continues.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
