Person escapes from car in water in Island Park, police say
Nassau County police said at least one person was able to get out of a car that drove into the water in Island Park on Saturday night.
Police said the car went into the water off Warwick Boulevard about 10 p.m.
The one person in the car who escaped the wreckage had nonlife-threatening injuries, police said, adding they did not know why the car veered off the road.
No other information was immediately available.
