The Queens man arrested Friday in the theft of a jewelry box from a home where he was working as a plumber has been fired, his former boss said.

John Curley of Great Neck-based Thomas Curley Plumbing & Heating Co. said in an email that Raymond Gonzalez, 35, was "terminated the moment we were informed of this incident."

Curley said Gonzalez had only worked at the company for three weeks.

Gonzalez was released without bail after being arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead Saturday, records show. He is due back in court Tuesday.

Gonzalez was arrested Friday on a charge of third-degree larceny after a Nassau police investigation revealed he stole a jewelry box from the master suite of a Great Neck home on Monday while working for Curley, police said.
