A man has been charged in the robbery of a West Hempstead bank Tuesday, Nassau police said Thursday.
The Major Case Bureau said a joint investigation between the Robbery squad and Hempstead police led to the arrest of Frederick Z. Rogers, 32, who has no known address. He was charged with third-degree robbery and a violation of a parole warrant, police said.
Police said Rogers ordered a teller at the Bank of America branch to hand over the cash, then ran out of the bank eastward on Hempstead Avenue. The four employees in the bank were not hurt, and no customers were present at the time, police said.
Rogers will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Friday, police said.
