A woman found dead in the water between an icy landing and a houseboat Saturday afternoon in Port Washington has been identified by police.

Police identified the woman as Jeanne Wilde, 57, of 12 Matinecock Ave., Port Washington. Wilde lived in the houseboat community.

Wilde was found at 2:19 p.m. Saturday by a passerby, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:30 p.m.

Police said it appeared possible Wilde slipped on the icy landing and struck her head.
