A man who was pulled out of the waters off Lido Beach on Friday morning was identified Saturday as Michael W. Neblett, Nassau County police said.

Neblett, 59, of Far Rockaway, was discovered by people out fishing.

He was floating facedown in the ocean when he was spotted at 11 a.m. about 1 1/2 miles south of the beach, police said.

Police and the U.S. Coast Guard recovered the body. Once on shore, the man was pronounced dead at 12:30 p.m., police said.

The victim was described by police as a black male who was balding, about 55 to 60 years old, dressed in a blue, buttoned shirt, red plaid pajama pants and black slip-on shoes.

The body was taken to the Nassau County medical examiner's office, and Fourth Precinct detectives are investigating.

Further details were not available. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477
