Woman injured in gunpoint robbery on Merrick street, police say

Nassau County police are looking for two gunmen who robbed a man and woman walking in Merrick late Monday.

Police said the two suspects approached a man, 36, and woman, 47, on Horatio Avenue about 11 p.m.

One of the suspects struck the woman in the head and then both took cellphones, cash and a wallet.

The suspects ran north on Pettit Avenue.

Both suspects wore dark clothing and were armed with black handguns, police said.

The woman was treated at the scene for a minor laceration to her head.
