A worker from Brooklyn was arrested Friday and charged with stealing cash out of bank deposits made by his Nassau County employer, Nassau County police said.

Police said Erol Desire, 49, of Highland Boulevard, was caught on video taking more than $71,000 out of bank deposits for his company between July and October 2013. The company's name was not disclosed.

Desire was arrested at 10:35 a.m. and charged with second-degree grand larceny. At his arraignment Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead, Desire was ordered held on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond, according to online court records.

He is due back in court on Tuesday.
