Queens man accused of selling stolen cars to LI junkyard

A Queens man was arrested Friday after bringing 12 stolen cars in four weeks to a Long Island junkyard to sell as scrap, Nassau police said.
Karlton Hope, 20, of Jamaica, was charged with 12 counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and 12 counts of first-degree falsifying business records, police said. Hope, of 15-27 Bedell St., is expected to be arraigned Saturday.
He started bringing stolen vehicles April 5 to a Valley Stream scrap yard, police said. For each vehicle, he filled out a New York State motor vehicle form and lied on them by saying he was the owner, police said.
Detectives arrested Hope at his home, police said.
Other details, including how Hope got the cars, were not available, a police spokeswoman said.
