Stella Lee’s body recovered from state park, Nassau police say

The body of a missing Great Neck woman was found in Caumsett State Park on Monday afternoon, ending a search that started Saturday when her car was spotted in the parking lot, Nassau police said.
Stella Y. Lee, 22, was discovered in a wooded area about 2:30 p.m. by an officer with the state Department of Environmental Conservation, police said.
Detectives determined that no criminality was involved in her death, but said the investigation continues.
Lee was last seen driving away from her home just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday, police said, and she was reported missing the next day.
A park employee found her Honda Saturday in the parking lot of the state park, which borders the Long Island Sound in Lloyd Harbor, authorities said.
Several agencies began looking for her, including Suffolk police with its helicopter and canine officers, forest rangers, state police, village police, Nassau police, the Huntington Harbor Master, the Huntington First Aid Squad and several fire departments, including Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington, Halesite and Huntington Manor.
Most of the park was closed to the public during the search.
