A Valley Stream man was arrested Thursday in Texas in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Westbury man in Hempstead on Dec. 23, police said.

Otoniel A. Castillo, 28, of Rockaway Parkway, was charged with first-degree gang assault in connection with the death of Plutaco Galindo, 23.

John Nazario Mazariego, 27, of Roosevelt, was charged with second-degree murder and Angel R. Vasquez, 18, of Roosevelt, was charged with first-degree gang assault earlier this month.

Galindo and several other men were attacked outside the El Pacifico Bar on Franklin Street in Hempstead after they were mistakenly believed to be members of a rival gang, police said.

Those charged were MS-13 gang members, Nassau police said.

Castillo, who was arrested in El Paso, is being extradited to Nassau County, police said, and is scheduled for arraignment in First District Court Friday.
