A Queens teenager faces an attempted robbery charge after the beating Monday of a 14-year-old boy in Elmont, Nassau County police said.

James Bullock, 17, of 117-32 223 St. in Cambria Heights, was among six men who beat the youth at about 4:30 p.m. on Dutch Broadway, police said.

The boy walked past the group and one of the men called out to him, police said. The boy continued walking, but the men ran over and surrounded him, police said.

Police said one of the men in the group grabbed at the boy's right pocket, tearing it. Then the group began punching the boy "about the face, head and body," police said.

The boy fell to the ground and the men ran off without taking anything, police said.

Bullock was arrested a short time later without incident, and the victim declined medical attention at the scene, police said.

Bullock is charged with attempted robbery and is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
