A Queens woman was arrested in her home Monday and charged with defrauding more than $90,000 from her employer, an Atlantic Beach maintenance company.

Joanne Estrada, 44, of 43-60 Douglaston Pkwy., was employed as the bookkeeper for Redgrave Electrical Maintenance, 201 Flamingo St., Nassau police said.

Estrada fraudulently deposited 23 checks from the company's check ledger into an account in her name from July to January, costing the company thousands of dollars, police said in a news release. She would then make false entries into the business ledger to conceal the theft, police said.

Estrada is charged with second-degree grand larceny, three counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument, and first-degree falsifying business records. She is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
