A Wyandanch teen was arrested in connection with an attempt to break into a Hicksville home on Thursday morning, Nassau County police said.

Justin Branch, 16, of State Avenue, and another youth allegedly were trying to break into a residence on Libby Avenue in Hicksville around 11:20 a.m., police said, when the homeowner heard sounds from outside a bedroom window.

Branch and the other youth fled, but Branch was apprehended by a neighbor, who held him until police arrived. The investigation is ongoing, police said, and a second arrest is pending.

Branch is charged with attempted burglary and was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
