In the one good turn deserves another category, Smithtown Supervisor Patrick Vecchio, a Republican, once again endorsed Democratic Rep. Timothy Bishop for Congress. This is the second time Vecchio has cross-endorsed Bishop, and Bishop returned the favor last fall when he endorsed Vecchio for re-election.

Standing to the left in the picture, holding the umbrella is Neal Spevack, owner of Smithtown Concrete, where the press conference was held. Spevack is a supporter of Bishop's, donating $1,500 to his campaign over two years.

Vecchio said the endorsement was nor about friendship, but what is good for Smithtown, citing the $8 to $10 million Bishop has gotten for Smithtown projects.
