Police want to know who struck a Lake Grove man on Middle Country Road Sunday morning and left him to die.

They are offering up to a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the hit-and-run driver.

Brian T. Bianchi, 49, had been standing in the turn lane of Middle Country Road at Hawkins Avenue at about 1:40 a.m. Sunday when a vehicle struck him, then fled, Suffolk County police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Suffolk County medical examiner's office.

Police are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
