An 80-year-old Port Jefferson Station woman seriously injured in a multicar accident Sunday in Selden has died, Suffolk police said Monday.

Augustina Daredakis died at Stony Brook University Hospital, where she had been taken after her 2001 Honda was involved in a crash on Dare Road and Middle Country Road at about 12:30 p.m., police said.

Police said the other driver, identified as Kimberly Tarantino, 23, of Selden, was being treated at Stony Brook for "non-life-threatening injuries."

Police officials said Daredakis was turning left onto the eastbound lane of Middle Country Road when her car was struck by Tarantino's 2011 Kia, which was heading west.

A 1989 BMW traveling east on Middle Country Road was then struck by Daredakis' car, police said. The driver of the BMW, Antonio Santiago, 70, of Selden, was not injured, police said.

Police said the cars were impounded for safety checks and Sixth Squad detectives are investigating, but said no criminality was involved.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
