Babylon town board approves employees' salaries
Babylon town board members set salaries Tuesday for hundreds of town employees ranging from part-time bingo inspectors -- $25 per hour -- to Town Supervisor Richard Schaffer, who will be paid $107,292.90.
The other four town board members received a 2.5 percent salary raise Tuesday, bringing the 2015 salary for the part-time position to $57,297.50.
Councilman Anthony Martinez, who serves as deputy supervisor, will receive an additional $20,000 for his work in that capacity.
Public Works Commissioner Tom Stay, a nine-year veteran who was the highest-paid town employee in 2014 with $99,886.12 gross earnings, according to the town payroll, will be paid a $100,998 salary.
