A beach at Heckscher State Park in East Islip will be reopened to swimming on Friday, state parks officials said.
Since Aug. 3, Field No. 6 at West Beach had been closed to swimmers as a precaution after testing showed unfavorable water samples, the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation said.
At the time of the closing, officials said results from more testing would be reviewed to determine when swimming would be permitted.
