Police: Man with pellet gun robbed woman pumping gas in North Amityville

Suffolk County police have arrested a man suspected of robbing a woman pumping gas in North Amityville on Thursday.
The woman was filling up her car at the Citgo at 655 Broadway at about 8:50 p.m. when Billy McMahon, 24, of 2 Esther Ct., Centereach, approached her with a pellet gun, police said.
McMahon then took cash from the woman and fled on foot, police said.
He was arrested a short distance away by responding officers. Police charged McMahon with first-degree robbery. He is due to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
