Suffolk County police investigate a fatal hit-and-run accident on Route 109 on the border of East Farmingdale and North Lindenhurst on Friday morning, May 8, 2015. Credit: Stringer News Service

A North Amityville woman was the victim of a fatal hit-and-run accident early Friday in North Lindenhurst, police said.

Police are investigating the death of Christina Ramdas, 22, who was "in the westbound lane" on Route 109, east of Wellwood Avenue, at about 3:30 a.m. when she was struck by a westbound vehicle that then fled, Suffolk County police said.

Ramdas was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives urge any witnesses to call the Vehicular Crime Unit at 631-852-6555 or anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
