A Walmart employee was arrested Saturday night after Suffolk County police said he sexually abused a boy in the Islandia store's bathroom.

Police said Sunday a mother and her 5-year-old son were at the Walmart on Veterans Memorial Highway about 8:45 p.m. when employee Matthew Bulmer lured the boy into the store's bathroom, then proceeded to sexually abuse him.

After an investigation by Fourth Squad and Special Victims Section detectives, Bulmer, 22, of Islip Terrace, was arrested at the store and charged with first-degree sex abuse and acting in a manner to injure a child.

At arraignment Sunday at Central Islip's First District Court, Bulmer was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. His next court date is Friday.

Police said they are seeking others who may have been victimized by Bulmer. Contact the Special Victims Section at 631-852-6184.
