A Dix Hills teenager on a dirt bike was seriously injured Friday afternoon after colliding with a sport utility vehicle in Deer Park, Suffolk police said.

The 16-year-old dirt bike rider was heading north on West Fourth Street when he struck a Chevy Equinox going east on Oakland Avenue at about 4:15 p.m., police said.

The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, police said. The Chevy driver, a 50-year-old woman from Deer Park, was not injured.

Police said there was no indication of a crime and no tickets were issued, but First Precinct detectives continue to investigate.
