A witness who called 911 said they saw a young woman stick a hypodermic needle in her arm outside the 7-Eleven in East Quogue, then drive off on County Road 104.

When Southampton Town police stopped Katie M. Dolan, 23, of East Quogue, a short time later Thursday, she had heroin, oxycodone, Suboxone and clonazepam, all controlled narcotics, and a hypodermic syringe, police said.

Dolan was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, speeding and failure to maintain her lane. Arraignment details were not immediately available.

Police said the incident took place just before 8 p.m.

Following the 911 call, police saw Dolan's car exceed the posted speed limit and fail to maintain its lane.
