The eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway starting at Exit 49 have reopened after they were closed for about an hour Thursday, according to a state Department of Transportation website.

Two people were taken to Huntington Hospital with minor neck and back injuries, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. A spokeswoman did not have any more information on their conditions.

The car overturned at about 1:15 p.m. near the Bagatelle Road exit in Half Hollow Hills and was removed a little more than an hour later, according to information posted at informny.com.

Cameras showed traffic at a virtual standstill for several exits before the car was removed.
